One of the most dominant themes of Dhoop Kinaray lies in the
conception of love that is being promoted by Haseena Moin. Zoya is the carrier
of the ideal love as opposed to Sheena who represents the worldly love and a
kind of love that is undesirable. Dr. Sheena's love is materialistic and does not
have an unconditional aspect to it, thus referred to as 'dukaandari' by Zoya
Ali Khan. On the other hand, Zoya, though carefree in her demeanor is an
unconditional lover. She loves Dr. Ahmer completely without expecting any kind
of return for her love. She is also ready to give up the property that is being
given to her by her grandfather as these things do not hold any value for her.
Her love for Dr. Ahmer is not jealous of anyone or anything and she does not
see Dr. Sheena as her rival. Zoya does not play her youth card infront of Dr.
Ahmer to make him fall in love with her. On the other hand, Dr. Sheena's love
for Dr. Ahmer is jealous, competitive and focuses on the outer beauty of a
person. It does not let go of the lover but clings to him. An interesting
aspect of Zoya's love is the consciousness it has for other aspects while still
being in love. Dr. Zoya does not go blind or fail to see the flaws in Dr. Ahmer
even though she is deeply in love with him. She corrects him when she sees him going
wrong and when she realizes that his love for her is being converted into hate
towards the end of the drama when he gets to know about the property truth.
Though hurt by the situation, she brings him back to the reality and to the
right path. By doing so, she shuns the material aspect of the love once again
that is portrayed as undesirable in the drama.
